Bull markets occur in property, stocks and business opportunities alike. When they happen, people rush in quickly and experts like me who sell courses on how to improve your chances of success, pop up like whack-a-moles.
This pervading cynical view of "experts who sell courses" is not undeserved. Sadly, there is often a very real disconnect between the interests of those selling courses and those who are looking to benefit from their knowledge.
While students want genuine expertise, the guru usually wants to sell as many courses as they can because that's how they get paid. Any intelligent person can see this. It takes no real talent to figure it out.
This misalignment is also why this industry has earned a pretty sketchy reputation.
So here's some stats that you WON'T see many Amazon experts sharing...
In new data released just 5-days ago, MarketPulse.com revealed that a staggering 90% of those who open Amazon seller accounts are gone within 90 days. 90%!!!
Further, only 1.8% of sellers make it past the first year. In other words, 98.2% QUIT before their first anniversary.
So if Amazon is so great, how come so many people quit?
This is where the cynics step in to celebrate their apparent victory of "being right" about their hunch that nothing is as easy as it sounds. And they would have every right to push the point with any course marketer who told their students that starting an Amazon business is easy or fast.
That being said, Amazon is growing like crazy and people ARE making money on there. I won't go into the many articles and metrics around this in this post because that's not the point.
The point is this...
While the cynics celebrate, the REAL entrepreneurs are having their own party. The rare combination of a booming business like Amazon, and a massive attrition rate of inexperienced competitors coming in and leaving within months means opportunity.
Only the weak point to hardship as a reason not to start or to quit within their first year.
